Toy Story 5 arrives on Disney+ following $1.1 billion box office success

Pixar’s Toy Story 5 has officially transitioned from theatrical release to streaming on Disney+, following a highly successful box office run that earned over $1.1 billion globally. The film, which explores the tension between traditional toys and modern technology through the introduction of a tablet named Lilypad, has become a major commercial success for Disney.

To coincide with the streaming debut, Disney has launched a promotional collaboration within Fortnite titled ‘Toy Story 5: The Great Toy Rescue’. This limited-time creative island allows players to explore environments inspired by Bonnie’s room and complete challenges to rescue iconic characters like Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie. The event is scheduled to run until October 5, 2026.

The franchise continues to demonstrate significant economic impact, with the brand having generated an estimated $51 billion in economic activity since 1995. The streaming release includes the full saga, making all previous films available on the platform.
