Toy Story 5 earns $879 million worldwide and hides Apple‑inspired Easter egg

Four weeks after its release, Disney‑Pixar’s Toy Story 5 has accumulated $879.1 million at the global box office. The film earned $403.8 million in the United States and Canada and $475.3 million from international markets, with Mexico emerging as the top foreign market, followed by strong performances in the United Kingdom, China, France and Australia. Analysts note the movie is closing the gap with Toy Story 4’s $1.07 billion record and could surpass it as summer holidays boost attendance.

The sequel also continues Pixar’s tradition of nods to Apple and its co‑founder Steve Jobs. A new toy in the film, the LilyPad, features a macOS‑style window interface, complete with minimize, maximize and close buttons, a terminal‑like command line and a Python script—visual cues that have been spotted by fans as a tribute to Apple’s design legacy.
