Toy Story 5 to stream on Disney+ starting September 23

Disney and Pixar have announced that Toy Story 5 will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ on September 23, 2026. The release follows a highly successful theatrical run that saw the film gross over $1.1 billion worldwide.

Directed by Andrew Stanton and co-directed by Kenna Harris, the film explores themes of traditional play versus modern technology. The plot centers on the toys—including Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie—as they face a new challenge in the form of a tablet named Lilypad, which threatens to divert Bonnie’s attention away from them.

The film features the return of original voice actors Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack. To celebrate the streaming launch, Taylor Swift has released a music video for the piano version of her original song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which is featured on the soundtrack. Physical media releases, including 4K UHD and Blu-ray, are scheduled for September 22, 2026.
