Toy Story 5 warns of children’s screen addiction
Pixar’s upcoming sequel Toy Story 5 introduces a new villain, Lilypad, a high‑tech tablet that engrosses children in constant screen use. The film’s plot follows Woody, Buzz Lightyear and friends as they try to rescue kids from the device’s pull and encourage real‑world play. In the German dub, actor Michael “Bully” Herbig returns to voice Woody and publicly criticises the growing smartphone addiction among youngsters, likening it to junk‑food consumption. Herbig also warns that the digital overload threatens creativity and patience in the younger generation. The movie features cameo voices such as Conan O’Brien and aims to blend entertainment with a commentary on modern technology’s impact on children.
