Toy Story franchise ratings and upcoming sixth film plan announced

A review of the Toy Story series shows that the first two films hold a perfect 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the third, fourth and fifth installments receiving 98%, 97% and high praise respectively. The rankings highlight the franchise’s consistent critical success since its debut in 1995.

Following the theatrical release of Toy Story 5 in June 2026, director and writer Andrew Stanton revealed that Pixar intends to conclude the new trilogy with Toy Story 6, which will mark the final chapter of Bonnie’s journey. Stanton said the sixth film will continue the franchise’s theme of growing up alongside its characters, mirroring the original transition from Andy to Bonnie.
