Toyin Abraham rejects Lagos APC Campaign Council appointment

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has rejected her reported inclusion in the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the 2027 elections. Her name appeared on a list released by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre under the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.

Abraham clarified via social media that she was not consulted and discovered her name on the list without prior knowledge. She emphasized her decision to remain neutral, stating, “I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently; I am staying out of politics.” She urged the public to disregard any reports suggesting her involvement in the political committee.

The campaign council, which includes various other entertainers and musicians, was scheduled for inauguration in Ikeja. Abraham’s refusal follows previous social media backlash she experienced after publicly supporting political candidates during the 2023 elections.
