Toyin Okoro questioned by ICPC over alleged fraud

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has questioned Toyin Okoro, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ekiti South West/Ikere/Ise-Orun federal constituency in the 2027 elections.

Okoro, a former senior legislative aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, was interrogated at the ICPC headquarters in Abuja regarding alleged violations of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000. The investigation focuses on allegations that Okoro operated a private company while serving as a public servant, which would violate public service rules.

Investigators are also examining claims that Okoro used his position to secure public contracts for his private company from entities including the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), and NASENI. Additionally, there are allegations that Okoro falsified and backdated his resignation letter to conceal these actions.
