Toyo High School badminton club wins men’s and women’s team titles

The badminton club at Toyo High School achieved victory in both the men’s and women’s team categories at the 9th District Summer Tournament. The competition, held on August 21, 23, and 25, serves as a key event for determining seeding for the upcoming autumn newcomer tournament.

The men’s team secured the championship with 3-0 victories in the second round against Nihon University Chiba High School, the semifinals against Funabashi Keimei High School, and the finals against Shirai High School. In the women’s division, the team also claimed first place, defeating Funabashi Higashi, Yakuen-dai, and Shirai High Schools with 3-0 scores in each respective round.

Individual achievements included a first-place finish in men’s doubles by Iwai and Sasaki, and a runner-up finish in women’s singles by Kitahara. The school noted that the results reflect the hard work put in during their training camps.
