Toyota and Caoa Chery lead hybrid value retention in Brazil
A recent study on the Brazilian hybrid vehicle market, the 'Melhor Revenda 2026', highlights significant differences in value retention among popular models. The Toyota Corolla hybrid and the Caoa Chery Tiggo 7 hybrid demonstrated strong performance, losing only 4% of their value after one year, preserving 96% of their reference price.
In contrast, competitors experienced higher depreciation rates. The BYD Song and GWM Haval H6 both saw a 16% decrease in value, while the BYD King recorded a 17% drop. The average depreciation for hybrids priced up to R$ 350,000 in the segment was 11%.
Amidst this competitive landscape, Toyota is also introducing the sixth generation of the RAV4 to the Brazilian market. Imported from Japan, the new RAV4 focuses on a full hybrid powertrain, offered in two all-wheel-drive versions: the entry-level S (R$ 317,190) and the top-tier SX (R$ 349,290). The model features a redesigned exterior with a more robust visual identity and LED lighting, aiming to compete with Chinese brands by emphasizing brand reliability and rational updates.
