Toyota and Lexus to introduce brake hold memory functions

Toyota and Lexus are set to begin implementing a memory function for their auto brake hold systems in upcoming vehicle models. This feature allows the vehicle to remember whether the brake hold setting was ON or OFF before the engine was turned off, automatically restoring that state upon the next startup.

Toyota is expected to introduce this feature to the Sienta starting in August 2025, followed by the Aqua in September 2025. Lexus models will also see the implementation, with the IS300h scheduled for January 2026 and the ES350h in August 2026. Other potential updates include the Alphard and Vellfire in mid-2026, and reports suggest the LBX and RX may receive the feature in October 2026.
