Toyota and Skoda lead sales via fleets while private buyers favor SUVs

Automotive market data reveals a significant divergence between corporate and individual consumer preferences. While the Toyota Corolla and Skoda Octavia lead overall sales figures due to high demand from corporate fleets, they are not the top choices for private buyers.

In Poland, reports from the SAMAR Institute indicate that while thousands of Corollas and Octavias are sold to companies, individual customers increasingly favor SUVs and crossovers. The top models for private buyers include the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, and Toyota C-HR, alongside Chinese brands such as MG and Omoda.

Globally, the Toyota Corolla continues to show strong performance, particularly in the US market. Toyota is planning a fundamental update to the model, potentially merging the sedan and hatchback designs into a more universal fastback to optimize production costs and compete with the growing crossover segment.
