Toyota and Volkswagen compete in the hybrid vehicle market
The hybrid vehicle market is seeing increased competition between established leaders and returning models. Toyota continues to leverage its hybrid expertise with the Corolla lineup, which includes the traditional compact, the Sports Touring estate, the sedan, and the newer Corolla Cross SUV. The Corolla Cross offers a larger footprint and increased cargo capacity, with a base volume of 390 liters expanding to 1,044 liters, compared to the compact version's 361 liters.
In response to the dominance of hybrid models like the Corolla, Volkswagen is revitalizing the Golf with a new TSI Hybrid version. This HEV model is designed for daily use without the need for external charging. The new Golf features advanced technology, including a Digital Cockpit Pro, three-zone climate control, and various driver assistance systems such as Travel Assist and Front Assist, aiming to reclaim market share in the compact segment against both hybrids and the rising popularity of SUVs.
