Toyota Canada signs mobility deal for Canada Games; Stellantis eyes Chinese Jeep imports

Toyota Canada has entered a five-year agreement to become the national mobility partner for the Canada Games. The partnership, which extends through 2031, will cover three editions of the games: the 2027 Winter Games in Quebec City, the 2029 Summer Games in Moncton–Saint John, and the 2031 Winter Games. As part of the deal, Toyota will provide a fleet of over 50 electrified vehicles, primarily zero-emission models, to support the games' sustainability goals.

Separately, Stellantis is considering exporting two electrified Jeep models manufactured in Wuhan, China, to the Canadian market starting in 2027. These models, produced through a joint venture with Dongfeng, would include both fully electric and plug-in hybrid versions. Stellantis Canada noted that these potential imports are not yet confirmed. This development occurs amid ongoing labor tensions regarding the Brampton assembly plant, where Unifor has threatened strike action following the suspension of vehicle production and shifts in manufacturing programs.
