Toyota cuts SW4 prices in Brazil to counter GWM Haval H9 competition

Toyota has implemented a significant price reduction for the SW4 SRX Platinum 7-seater model in Brazil to counter rising competition from the GWM Haval H9. The discount amounts to R$ 54,600, bringing the price down from R$ 424,590 to R$ 369,990 for sales completed by the end of September.

This strategic move follows a period of intense competition in the large SUV segment. The Haval H9 has challenged the SW4's market dominance, with the two models frequently alternating in monthly sales leadership. As of August, the SW4 maintained a narrow cumulative lead of 8,801 units compared to the Haval H9's 8,099 units.

Despite the price adjustment, the mechanical specifications of the SW4 remain unchanged, featuring a 2.8L turbodiesel engine producing 204 cv and 50.9 kgfm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and 4x4 traction. Toyota has also applied a R$ 44,700 discount to the Hilux SRV model as part of this repositioning.
