Toyota España introduces new EV incentives amid subsidy legislative changes
Toyota España has introduced additional incentives for its electrified vehicle lineup to complement the new government Auto+ Program. This program, which replaces Plan Moves III, has a budget of 400 million euros through 2026 and is retroactive to January 1, 2025.
Toyota is offering its own subsidies for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). The Toyota C-HR+ Electric and Toyota bZ4X will receive between 1,125 and 1,575 euros in additional discounts depending on the trim level. Plug-in hybrid models, including the C-HR Plug-in Hybrid and the new RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid, are also eligible for various levels of support.
However, legislative shifts have created complications for some consumers. Following the repeal of a previous decree by Congress, a legal gap has left approximately 2,700 drivers without access to the previous Plan Moves III subsidies of up to 7,000 euros. While the new April 2025 decree is retroactive to January 1, 2025, those who purchased vehicles during the final nine days of December 2024 are excluded from the new retroactive benefits.
