Toyota expands electric vehicle lineup in Germany
A personal test of the Toyota bZ4X electric SUV in Germany found the vehicle capable of reliable long‑distance travel, with a range display that matched real‑world use, fast charging at supermarket stations, and a price of €0.56‑0.69 per kWh. The reviewer highlighted features such as a surround‑camera system and optional all‑wheel drive, while noting a persistent warning tone and a higher energy consumption of about 14 kWh/100 km.
Toyota also announced the new ninth‑generation Hilux pickup, offered both as a modernised diesel with a 2.8‑L mild‑hybrid engine and as an electric version. Prices start at €53,490 for the diesel and €70,210 for the electric model. The electric Hilux delivers 144 kW (196 PS), a top speed of 140 km/h, a 59.2 kWh battery with a 257‑km WLTP range, and 150 kW fast‑charging capability. Toyota signalled further development with a forthcoming fuel‑cell‑powered Hilux.
