Toyota Finance Australia migrates to SAP S/4HANA cloud

Toyota Finance Australia has successfully completed a 13-month migration from a 16-year-old SAP ECC environment to the S/4HANA cloud public edition. The project, codenamed ‘Kizuna’, went live in early August.

According to Moulik Doshi, Head of Financial Reporting and Operations, the migration was driven by the need to move away from aging systems ahead of the scheduled end-of-life for ECC 6.0 in late 2027. The transition involved significant planning to manage the complexity of the existing environment and its various system connections.

The new cloud public edition follows SAP’s ‘clean core’ strategy, which utilizes a lower level of customization to facilitate easier future updates. This approach allows users to generate their own dashboards and reports while maintaining a standardized core.
