Toyota Finance issues ¥1 billion blockchain-based security token bond
Toyota Finance has launched the ‘TOYOTA Wallet Tsumugu Bond’, a ¥1 billion security-token bond issued via the BOOSTRY ‘ibet for Fin’ blockchain platform. This marks the first time the Toyota Group has conducted a self-offered public security-token bond.
Designed for retail investors, the one-year bond offers a 1.72% annual interest rate. A key feature of the offering is that investors can apply directly through the Toyota Wallet mobile app, eliminating the need for a traditional brokerage account. Minimum investments start at ¥100,000. To incentivize participation, investors may receive Toyota Wallet credits or enter lotteries for experiential rewards, such as tickets to Fuji Speedway or test drives of Lexus and classic Toyota models.
Separately, Toyota do Brasil has received R$ 123.6 million in financing from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) to establish a Biofuels Technology Development Center in Sorocaba, São Paulo. The facility will focus on research, calibration, and validation for flex-hybrid vehicle technologies, aiming to advance low-carbon solutions and strengthen the local supply chain in Brazil.
