Toyota Gazoo Racing leads 2026 Rali da Madeira with Kris Meeke and veteran drivers

Toyota Gazoo Racing Caetano Portugal entered the 2026 Rali da Madeira with drivers Pedro Almeida and former WRC winner Kris Meeke piloting the GR Yaris Rally2. The team aims to collect points for the Portuguese Rally Championship and showcase its capability on one of the most demanding stages.

Veteran driver Gil Freitas also returned to the event in an Alpine A110 RGT+, stating his goal is simply to finish despite concerns about braking and possible weather changes.

Meanwhile, the fourth round of the 2026 World Rally‑Raid championship took place in Morocco, extending special stages by 13% and re‑introducing historic Atlas mountain sections as teams prepare for the Dakar rally.
