Toyota GR GT3 racing car to debut in Super GT series
The new Toyota GR GT3 racing car is scheduled to make its competitive debut on November 7 and 8 in the Japanese Super GT series. The vehicle, which features a four-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, is set to succeed the Lexus RC F GT3 in 2027.
While the car has already been homologated by the FIA, its entry into the DTM is not expected until 2028 at the earliest, according to ADAC motorsport boss Thomas Voss. Although test runs may occur in 2027, production bottlenecks may prevent a full DTM campaign that year.
Other racing plans include the Hong Kong-based KCMG team fielding the car at the Nürburgring in 2027, and the ASP team entering two new Toyota GR GT3s in the World Endurance Championship (WEC).
