Toyota Hilux gets factory‑approved upgrade in Australia; Ford Ranger Super Duty launches in Europe

Toyota has introduced a factory‑approved off‑road package for the Hilux in Australia, priced at AU$4,000. The kit adds structural reinforcements to the chassis, longer‑travel rear shock absorbers and raises the body by up to 10 mm, boosting the maximum payload to about 1,525 kg. It is limited to 4×4 models with the 2.8‑L turbo‑diesel automatic transmission and includes a front steel bumper, snorkel, aluminium box and 17‑inch all‑terrain tyres. The upgraded Hilux WorkMate starts at AU$56,490, offering a lower price than competing Ford Ranger Super Duty models and comes with a factory warranty.

Ford announced that the Ranger Super Duty, a heavily reinforced version of its mid‑size pickup, will be sold in Europe for the first time. The new model features a thickened chassis, strengthened rear axle, upgraded suspension, a 3.0‑L V6 turbo‑diesel delivering 240 hp, a 130‑L fuel tank and a 10‑speed automatic transmission with selectable full‑time four‑wheel drive. Ground clearance is 30 cm, wading depth 85 cm, and it can carry over 1,000 kg. The double‑cab variant includes premium interior comforts and driver‑assist technologies.
