The Indonesian government is studying Toyota’s industrial strategies to strengthen the nation’s automotive sector. Susiwijono Moegiarso, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, noted that Toyota’s expertise in technology, human resource development, and supply chain management serves as a model for increasing Indonesia’s manufacturing competitiveness.
Toyota has a long-standing presence in Indonesia, having produced 10 million vehicles, with over 3 million exported globally. The company’s investment in the country has reached approximately Rp100 trillion, supporting an ecosystem of over 360,000 workers and achieving a local content rate of more than 80 percent.
In parallel, Toyota continues to showcase its hybrid technology through media testing in Indonesia. Journalists recently evaluated the Veloz Hybrid EV across various terrains in Yogyakarta and Solo to test fuel efficiency and performance. Additionally, the Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid EV was tested in sand dunes to demonstrate its off-road capabilities and the power of its parallel hybrid system, which combines a V6 twin-turbo engine with an electric motor.
