Toyota Korea completes inaugural TGR Rally Play event in Boryeong
Toyota Korea has successfully completed its first customer-participation motorsport event, titled ‘TGR Rally Play’. Held on September 5 in the Boryeong area and at Ajou Motor College in Chungnam, the program combined driving challenges with local tourism and cultural experiences.
A total of 181 participants from 69 teams took part, including 57 teams in the ‘Open Class’ designed for families and 12 teams in the ‘Advanced Class’ for motorsport enthusiasts. Of these, 57 teams successfully completed the course. Participants drove a 70km route over approximately four hours, utilizing rally pace notes rather than standard GPS navigation to navigate checkpoints and complete missions.
The event was designed to emphasize teamwork between drivers and co-drivers. It also served as a regional revitalization effort by incorporating Boryeong’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and local farms into the driving course. Additional activities at the main venue included drift show runs, gymkhana driving, TGR simulators, and heritage exhibitions. Toyota Korea intends to continue expanding grassroots motorsport culture through various customer-oriented programs.
