Toyota launches C‑HR+ electric SUV with three powertrains and 10‑year battery guarantee

Toyota introduced the C‑HR+, its second fully electric model after the bZ4X, built on the e‑TNGA platform shared with Subaru’s Solterra and Lexus’s RZ. The compact SUV is offered in three power levels: a 167 hp version with a 58 kWh battery delivering a WLTP range of 458 km, a 224 hp version with a 77 kWh battery (WLTP 607 km, real‑world about 470 km), and a top‑spec 343 hp all‑wheel‑drive model also using the 77 kWh pack. Toyota backs the battery with a “Battery Care” program that guarantees capacity will not fall below 70 % for ten years or one million kilometres. Fast DC charging at up to 150 kW fills the battery from 10 % to 80 % in roughly 28 minutes, while a 22 kW AC charger is available on higher trims. Inside, the C‑HR+ features a 14‑inch HD touchscreen, 64‑colour ambient lighting, and a suite of connectivity options including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and dual‑phone charging. The model aims to combine a futuristic design with practical interior space, targeting the compact electric SUV segment.
