Toyota Hilux launch in India set for July 28, 2026

Toyota has confirmed that the ninth‑generation Hilux will be launched in India on 28 July 2026, about eight months after its global debut. The new model will feature a refreshed exterior with a body‑coloured honeycomb grille, slimmer LED headlamps, a revised front bumper and skids plate, as well as updated alloy wheels and a rear bumper. Inside, the cabin will receive a redesigned dashboard with dual 12.3‑inch displays – one for a fully digital instrument cluster and another for infotainment – plus a new steering wheel, revised centre console and physical controls for key functions.

The powertrain will remain the proven 2.8‑litre turbo‑diesel engine delivering 204 hp and 500 Nm, paired with a six‑speed manual or automatic gearbox and a standard 4WD system. Safety equipment is expected to include six airbags, vehicle‑stability control, hill‑assist, downhill‑assist and an expanded ADAS suite such as adaptive cruise control, lane‑departure warning and autonomous emergency braking. A 48‑volt mild‑hybrid system may be added, though this has not been confirmed. Pricing is expected to be higher than the current Rs 30‑36 lakh range, positioning the Hilux as a premium lifestyle pickup in the Indian market.
