Toyota launches new generation Hilux pickup with upgraded design and tech
Toyota has introduced the latest generation of its Hilux pickup, retaining the model’s classic dimensions while adding a more aggressive front style, dual‑cab interior, and a suite of new comfort and convenience features. The redesign includes a centrally mounted 4×4 control panel, permanent all‑wheel drive, electric power steering and an upgraded MyToyota app that allows remote door locking, climate control and vehicle location.
The new Hilux continues Toyota’s multipath strategy, offering a range of petrol and diesel engines aimed at reducing emissions and supporting the company’s carbon‑neutrality goals. Inside, the cabin draws inspiration from the Land Cruiser with thicker seat cushioning, eight‑way electric‑adjustable front seats and higher‑quality materials. Historically, the Hilux, first launched in 1968 after evolving from Hino’s Briska, has built a reputation for durability across work, leisure and off‑road use, making it one of the world’s most celebrated pickup trucks.
