Toyota Kirloskar Motor launches 2026 Hilux pickup in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), a joint venture of Toyota Motor Corporation and Kirloskar Systems, unveiled the ninth‑generation Hilux in India with an ex‑showroom starting price of Rs 31.99 lakh for the GX 4×2 AT model. The model line‑up consists of three automatic variants – GX 4×2 AT, GX 4×4 AT and VX 4×4 AT – with the manual transmission dropped. Bookings opened on 26–28 July 2026 and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second week of August.

The Hilux retains its 2.8‑litre BS6‑phase‑2 turbo‑diesel engine, delivering 201 hp (204 ps) and 500 Nm of torque through a six‑speed automatic gearbox. Safety equipment includes seven SRS airbags, vehicle‑stability control, ABS with EBD and brake assist. Inside, a 12.3‑inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a matching digital instrument cluster and optional 48‑V mild‑hybrid assistance on selected variants are offered. Additional premium features on the top‑spec VX model include ventilated front seats, a 360‑degree camera and a panoramic view monitor.
