Toyota launches new Hilux with 48 V mild‑hybrid diesel and all‑electric version

Toyota unveiled the ninth‑generation Hilux, adding a 2.8‑liter diesel engine paired with a 48‑volt mild‑hybrid system that delivers 150 kW (204 hp) and 500 Nm of torque. The hybrid setup reduces fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions and provides smoother start‑stop and regenerative braking. Inside, the cabin receives larger digital displays, upgraded materials and optional leather and JBL audio.

Alongside the hybrid, Toyota introduced the Hilux BEV, the brand’s first fully electric pickup. It uses a 59.2 kWh lithium‑ion battery, offers up to 257 km (combined) and 380 km in city driving, and can charge from 10 % to 80 % in about 30 minutes on a 125 kW DC charger. The electric model retains the original ladder‑frame chassis, supports permanent 4×4 via dual motors, and is rated for a 715 kg payload and 1.6 t tow capacity.

In the Czech market, the mild‑hybrid Hilux starts at approximately 1.15 million CZK (≈ $55,000) for the Executive line, while the BEV version is priced around 1.32 million CZK. First deliveries are expected in autumn, with the hybrid arriving earlier in summer.
