Toyota Motor Europe reports record EV sales growth in first half of 2026

Toyota Motor Europe delivered 633,617 vehicles in Europe during the first six months of 2026, with electrified models accounting for a record 87% of total sales. Battery‑electric vehicle (BEV) sales more than doubled, rising 113% year‑over‑year to 62,412 units and representing 11% of all sales.

The company retained its position as Europe’s second‑largest passenger‑car brand, led by the Yaris Cross. Commercial‑vehicle sales grew as well, with the all‑electric Proace up 37% and Proace City up 47%, and new electric variants such as the Proace Max and Hilux BEV added to the lineup. Lexus contributed a high proportion of electrified sales, with 96% of its European volume coming from hybrid or electric models.

These results underscore Toyota’s accelerating shift toward zero‑emission mobility across the European market.
