Toyota Motor Philippines announces GR86 Cup for 2027

Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines have confirmed the addition of a GR86 One-Make Race (OMR) class to the 2027 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup. This new category will join the existing Vios and Tamaraw OMR classes, aiming to create the largest one-make sports car grid in the country with a target of 30 racers.

Developed in collaboration with Autoplus and Tuason Racing School, the race cars will utilize the standard 2.4-liter gasoline engine producing approximately 234 to 237 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Two versions of the vehicle are available: a Base Spec priced at P2,960,000, which includes safety features like a roll cage, bucket seats, a kill switch, and a fire extinguisher; and a Performance Spec priced at P3,290,000. The Performance Spec includes upgraded braking systems, an oil cooler with a baffle pan, racing wheels, and the removal of interior carpets and rear seats. Of the initial 30 units available, 22 have already been sold.
