Toyota Motor Philippines marks 70 years of Japan-Philippines ties

Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) supported the B. LEAGUE Manila Games 2026 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines. The two-game professional basketball series took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on September 9 and 10.

TMP President Masando Hashimoto stated that the 70-year relationship is built on economic, diplomatic, and meaningful people-to-people connections. He noted that basketball serves as a shared passion that brings the two communities together. Hashimoto also highlighted Toyota’s long-standing economic partnership in the Philippines, which has contributed to local manufacturing, employment, and the growth of the domestic automotive industry.

The event featured players such as AJ Edu of the Gunma Crane Thunders and Dwight Ramos of Levanga Hokkaido. In addition to the games, TMP hosted the Toyota Challenge Zone, offering interactive basketball activities for fans.
