Toyota names new Corolla Deck pickup to rival Fiat Toro
Toyota has named its upcoming intermediate pickup truck the Corolla Deck. Designed to compete with models like the Fiat Toro, Renault Niagara, and Ram Rampage, the vehicle is expected to debut in Brazil by the end of 2027.
Built on the structural platform of the Corolla Cross SUV, the Corolla Deck will utilize a unibody construction rather than a traditional ladder frame. Production is slated for Toyota’s facility in Sorocaba, São Paulo, as part of a larger R$ 11 billion investment plan in Brazil through 2030.
A key technical highlight will be the introduction of Toyota’s first flex-fuel plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system in the region. This powertrain is expected to combine a 2.0-liter engine with electric motors to produce approximately 223 cv and support 4x4 traction. Entry-level versions may instead feature the standard 2.0-liter flex engine found in the Corolla Cross without electrification.
