Toyota prepares major overhaul for thirteenth-generation Corolla

Toyota Motor Corporation is preparing a major overhaul for the thirteenth generation of the Corolla, investing heavily to ensure the iconic compact car remains in high demand globally. The upcoming model is expected to feature a design evolution inspired by the Corolla Concept introduced at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, potentially adopting a sleeker, four-door coupe-like silhouette with improved aerodynamics.

Technical updates include a new platform capable of supporting various powertrains, including battery electric vehicles (BEV), plug-in hybrids, traditional hybrids, and internal combustion engines. Toyota President Koji Sato stated that the company aims to create beautiful and desirable vehicles regardless of the power source. The new generation is expected to offer diverse body styles, including crossovers, and will feature a modernized digital cockpit with touch-sensitive controls for multimedia and driver assistance systems.
