Toyota RAV4 Hybrid leads in high resale value among popular models
A market analysis reveals that certain vehicle models are retaining their value significantly better than the industry average. Specifically, a five-year-old Toyota RAV4 Hybrid AWD-i Active has seen a value depreciation of only 6 percent, costing the owner approximately 370 SEK per month in lost value.
Other popular models from 2021 also showed resilience, with the Volvo XC40 B4 losing 13 percent and the Volkswagen Tiguan losing 16 percent over five years. In contrast, the diesel-powered Volvo V60 experienced a higher depreciation rate of approximately 27 percent.
The trend of high resale values is attributed to a combination of rising new car prices and sustained demand in the used vehicle market. When the cost of new models increases, the market value of older, comparable models is often pushed upward.
