Toyota recalls over 2,600 Hilux pickups in Vietnam
Toyota Vietnam (TMV) has announced a recall for 2,616 Toyota Hilux double cab pickup trucks due to a software error in the body electrical control system. The affected vehicles were manufactured in Thailand between October 20, 2025, and April 22, 2026.
The software glitch prevents the headlight delay function from activating. This feature is designed to keep the headlights on for a period after the ignition is turned off to assist drivers when exiting the vehicle in low-light conditions. Because of the error, the lights may turn off immediately instead of providing the intended extended illumination.
TMV will perform the software update free of charge at all Toyota authorized service centers nationwide. The recall program is scheduled to run from October 26, 2026, to October 26, 2029, with each inspection and update expected to take approximately 0.9 hours.
