Toyota sees 136 percent surge in US electric vehicle sales

Toyota has experienced a 136.3 percent increase in US battery-electric vehicle sales during the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. This growth occurred despite a broader decline in the US electric vehicle segment, including a roughly 10 percent drop in Tesla sales.

The surge is attributed to an expanded EV lineup, including the bZ4X, the bZ Woodland, and the compact C-HR. These models provide a broader price range, with the 2026 bZ series starting at $34,900. Additionally, Toyota's new models feature the NACS charging inlet, allowing direct access to the Tesla Supercharging network in North America without an adapter.
