Toyota unveils 60th‑anniversary Corolla Cross “Z Adventure” model
Toyota marked the 60th anniversary of its Corolla line by releasing a refreshed Corolla Cross compact SUV on 1 July 2026. The update adds exterior styling cues such as a special grille, black‑painted grille mould and two‑tone Z Adventure paint options, along with interior upgrades that combine synthetic leather and fabric. Safety and convenience features—including blind‑spot monitoring, parking‑assist brake, panoramic‑view monitor with under‑floor display and steering‑wheel heating—are now standard on higher trims. Prices start at ¥2,981,000 for the base 2WD S model and reach ¥4,077,700 for the GR SPORT, while the Z Adventure edition is priced at ¥3,663,000 (2WD) to ¥3,921,500 (E‑Four).
The anniversary references the original Corolla launched in November 1966, which sold 889,678 units within three years and seven months and was priced at ¥43,200. The first‑generation model featured a 1.1‑litre engine, a four‑speed manual transmission and a compact body that helped Toyota achieve its goal of making cars accessible to a broad market.
