Toyota unveils next‑gen Hilux teaser ahead of India launch
Toyota posted images of the upcoming ninth‑generation Hilux pickup, confirming a launch in India on July 28, 2026. The teaser highlights a new front design with a larger honeycomb grille, slimmer LED headlamps, and a bright orange‑bronze body colour, along with a black‑trimmed “TOYOTA” badge, black rims, roll‑bar and a shark‑fin antenna. The vehicle retains the double‑cab configuration and the existing 2.8‑litre four‑cylinder diesel engine (about 200 hp, 420‑500 Nm torque) with manual or automatic transmission, while a mild‑hybrid variant may be offered.
Inside, the new Hilux is expected to feature 12.3‑inch touchscreen and digital instrument cluster, dual‑zone automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a suite of safety systems including Level‑2 ADAS, seven airbags and a 360‑degree camera. Pricing is projected around ₹35‑36 lakh, a modest increase from the current model’s ₹28‑36 lakh range.
