Toyota unveils ninth‑gen Hilux mild‑hybrid diesel in Israel
Toyota Motor Corporation has introduced the ninth‑generation Hilux pickup for the Israeli market. The new model is equipped with a 2.8‑litre turbo‑diesel engine paired with a 48‑volt mild‑hybrid system, which Toyota claims improves fuel consumption by about 5% while retaining the vehicle’s off‑road capability and payload capacity.
The Israeli‑spec Hilux is offered in three trim levels – Active Pro, Adventure and Sahara – and includes the latest Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 driver‑assist suite. Pricing starts at 309,990 shekels for the base configuration, with the SR double‑cab 48‑V mild‑hybrid listed at $59,490 in the U.S. market. Sales are scheduled to begin on 27 July 2026, with showrooms receiving stock in September.
Union Motors, Toyota’s official importer in Israel, highlights the vehicle’s reinforced chassis, four‑wheel drive, and a digital driver’s cabin. The launch continues Hilux’s long‑standing reputation for durability, noting that roughly 90% of Hilux units that have operated in Israel over the past two decades remain in service.
