Toyota unveils ninth‑generation Hilux pickup in India
Toyota Motor Corporation will launch the ninth‑generation Toyota Hilux in India on 28 July 2026. The new pickup is expected to be priced between ₹30 lakh and ₹35 lakh, up from the current model’s ₹28‑₹36 lakh range.
The Hilux will retain the 2.8‑litre turbo‑diesel engine, now paired with a 48‑volt mild‑hybrid (neoDrive) system borrowed from the Fortuner, promising modest fuel‑efficiency gains. Standard features include a 12.3‑inch instrument cluster, dual 12.3‑inch infotainment displays, LED headlights and taillights, a 360‑degree camera, blind‑spot monitoring, dual‑zone climate control, ADAS safety suite and a 9‑speaker JBL audio system. The exterior adopts a bolder design with slimmer LED lights, a honeycomb‑mesh grille and larger air intakes.
Toyota also announced plans to introduce an all‑new Fortuner SUV and an updated Innova Hycross MPV for the Indian market later in 2026‑2027, completing a three‑model push aimed at strengthening its presence across the country’s pickup, SUV and family‑car segments.
