Toyota launches redesigned Hilux pickup with hybrid diesel and fully electric versions
Toyota has introduced the ninth‑generation Hilux pickup, unveiling a completely redesigned exterior and updated chassis. The model is now offered with a mild‑hybrid 48‑V diesel powertrain and, for the first time, a pure‑electric version.
The diesel version uses a 2.8‑litre 1GD‑FTV engine paired with a six‑speed automatic transmission, while the electric variant combines two motors for a combined output of 196 hp and a 59.2 kWh battery that provides roughly 257 km of range. The new Hilux ships in Japan immediately and will be sold in Greece from autumn 2026, only as a double‑cab and equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3 and other driver‑assist features.
