Toyota unveils Snowhunter concept vehicle series
Toyota has introduced the Snowhunter series, a collection of five concept vehicles designed for extreme winter conditions. Scheduled for presentation at the SEMA Show 2026, the lineup includes the Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and Sequoia.
The most striking feature of the Snowhunter concepts is the replacement of traditional wheels with large track systems. This modification increases the surface area in contact with the ground, distributing the vehicle's weight more broadly to reduce pressure on soft snow and prevent sinking. To accommodate the tracks, the vehicles feature raised suspensions.
Each model is tailored for specific winter uses. The Tundra concept is configured as a mobile base camp, featuring the TrailLift Pro Rack in the bed for heavy equipment storage and additional lighting. Other models, such as the Tacoma, are optimized for exploration with specialized gear like WeBoost antennas, roof racks, and MOLLE mounting panels.
