Toyota updates Roomy compact wagon and market trends shift

Toyota has announced a minor change for the Roomy, a compact height wagon, featuring upgraded safety features and new package options. The update includes enhancements to the Smart Assist system, adding detection capabilities for crossing bicycles, oncoming vehicles during right turns, and pedestrians at crosswalks. The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) has also been improved for smoother performance.

New color options such as Grayish Olive Metallic have been introduced, along with the ‘Another Style Package’ for Custom G and G-T grades. The Roomy lineup includes both naturally aspirated and turbocharged engine options. Additionally, Toyota plans to release an updated welfare vehicle version, the Welcab, in November.

For the Toyota Yaris, target vehicle discounts are approximately 150,000 yen with delivery times of 5 to 6 months. The Toyota Aqua sees higher target discounts of around 180,000 yen and a 3 to 4-month wait. The Honda Fit offers the shortest delivery window at 1 to 3 months, with a target vehicle discount of 140,000 yen.
