Toyota Veloz Hybrid launch postponed in Vietnam

Toyota Vietnam confirmed that it has no plan to sell the Veloz Hybrid MPV in the country next year, despite rumors from some dealers that the model might arrive soon. The hybrid version is currently being imported from Indonesia and will be domestically produced only after the hybrid assembly line in Phú Thọ is completed.

The Veloz is Toyota's best‑selling seven‑seat vehicle in Vietnam, ranking second in its segment with 5,097 units sold in the first half of 2026. Toyota’s hybrid lineup has more than doubled sales year‑on‑year, now holding over 50% of the market share for gasoline‑electric vehicles. The Veloz Hybrid, equipped with a 1.5‑litre full‑hybrid system, is reported to consume about 3.46 L/100 km in urban driving.

Although the model’s arrival is still uncertain, the official statement indicates that any future launch would depend on the completion of local production facilities, with no definitive timeline disclosed.
