Toyota Vietnam May 2026 sales see Hilux outsell Vios, Yaris Cross leads

Toyota Vietnam reported total sales of 5,994 vehicles in May 2026, bringing the cumulative five‑month total to 28,916 units, a 25% increase over the same period last year. Of the Toyota‑brand sales, 5,653 were sold under the Toyota name (1,490 locally assembled and 4,163 fully imported).

The compact SUV Yaris Cross was the top‑selling model with 1,430 units, followed by the Veloz Cross (797), Corolla Cross (774) and Innova Cross (733). Notably, the Hilux pickup recorded 648 units, overtaking the Vios sedan which sold 626 units. Hybrid vehicles rose sharply, reaching 999 units sold—a 70% year‑on‑year growth. The luxury Lexus brand added 341 vehicles, up 14%.

Overall, the May figures highlight a shift toward SUVs and hybrid models in the Vietnamese market, with the Hilux’s gain marking a rare change in the ranking of Toyota’s traditionally strong sedan line‑up.
