TP Mazembe suspended by FECOFA over unpaid debt and alleged conflict of interest

The Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) imposed a 30‑day suspension on TP Mazembe, citing non‑payment of an $85,000 debt to AC Rangers for the transfers of players Bossou Nzali Adam and Kazema Baso Josué. The suspension remains in force until the club settles the full amount, with a risk of permanent exclusion if payment is not made.

TP Mazembe has filed an appeal arguing that the disciplinary process is tainted by a conflict of interest. The club points to Herman Bolambele, who simultaneously chairs the CDC of Linafoot and serves as secretary of the CDC of FECOFA, as having handled the case at multiple stages, violating principles of impartiality under FECOFA statutes. The club seeks annulment of the sanctions and a review of its case.
