TP PKK strengthens family economic empowerment initiatives
The Family Welfare Empowerment Movement (TP PKK) is implementing various initiatives to strengthen family economic independence across different regions in Indonesia.
In Jeneponto, the TP PKK has officially inaugurated the management of the Jeneponto Bahagia PKK Cooperative. The initiative aims to serve as an economic vehicle for the community, specifically for PKK members, to improve family welfare and enhance the financial independence of women. The cooperative's leadership includes Chairperson Ratnasari Dewi Rajab and a supervisory board consisting of Hj. Salmawati Paris, Hj. Yuristita Islam, and Hj. Sunarti.
In Central Java, Nawal Arafah Yasin, Chairperson of the Central Java TP PKK, is encouraging cadres across 35 regencies and cities to develop businesses based on local potential. This effort is being channeled through the 'Kapulaga' program (Kelompok Usaha Berbasis Keluarga), an evolution of the Family Income Increase Effort (UP2K). The program follows a four-stage process: assessment, formation of business groups, training and business assistance, and continuous business mentoring to ensure products can be effectively marketed.
