TPS signs defenseman Petteri Lindbohm

TPS has signed veteran defenseman Petteri Lindbohm to a contract covering the remainder of the season. The 32-year-old Lindbohm joins the Turku-based team from HIFK to bolster the defense following the long-term injury of team captain Niklas Friman, who is expected to be sidelined for approximately three months.

Lindbohm brings extensive international experience to the Liiga club, having previously played in the NHL, KHL, SHL, and the Swiss top league. His career achievements include winning Olympic gold and World Championship gold with the Finnish national team.

The agreement includes an option for Lindbohm to move to a foreign league during the season. Lindbohm noted that while he had considered playing abroad this summer, the opportunity to join a traditional club like TPS was highly appealing. TPS sports director Mika Suoraniemi stated that Lindbohm was a top priority in their market assessment to provide stability and leadership during Friman's absence.
