Trabzon Chamber of Commerce sparks controversy over LGBT film screening

The Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TTSO) has sparked significant debate in the conservative city of Trabzon following the announcement of a film screening as part of European Cinema Days. The film, titled ‘Four Mothers’, explores LGBT themes and follows the relationship between an LGBT individual named Edward, his friends, and his mothers.

The planned free screening has drawn sharp criticism from local groups and social media users who question the compatibility of such content with the city’s cultural fabric. The controversy comes at a time of heightened scrutiny regarding organizations receiving European Union funds, leading to questions regarding the involvement of the TTSO in the project.
