Trabzon City Hospital staffing plan clarified by mayor

Trabzon Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç addressed public confusion over hiring for the new Trabzon City Hospital. He said the project will create about 3,000 additional jobs, roughly 1,500 of which are doctors, nurses and health technicians, with the remainder in security, cleaning and other support roles. The mayor noted that the Health Ministry accepted the municipality’s request to allocate these support‑service positions to residents of Trabzon and confirmed that recruitment will be carried out through Trabzon İŞKUR.

Genç also corrected earlier reports that mentioned an 8,000‑person employment figure, explaining that the 8,000 number represents the hospital’s total staff capacity, while the 3,000 figure refers to the new jobs being added now. Ortahisar district chief Seyit Hisoğlu echoed the clarification, stating that the hiring process will follow the Health Ministry’s guidelines.
